Puppy Socialization Classes

In partnership with Ranch Équestre Karina Carola & Ass., Alka K9 offers kindergarten and puppy socialization classes for puppies aged 2 to 4 months old! These courses are offered in a stable where it has a multitude of smells, animals and fascinating objects.

The puppy's socialization period is a critical period between the 5th and 16th week of life, where the puppy creates positive or negative associations with its environment, dogs, humans, etc.

Learning related to socialization takes place more slowly after this period, hence the importance of having a period of enriching and positive socialization.

Much of the behavioral problems in adolescence and adulthood stem from a lack of socialization or traumatic experiences during this period. The intervention of a specialist is often necessary to create a rehabilitation and desensitization protocol which can take weeks or months depending on the severity.

Overall, the main objective of puppy group classes is to help puppies become well-behaved, socialized, and happy dogs, and to give their owners the tools and knowledge to help them achieve this goal.

COURSE CONTENT:

• Canine communication,

• Socialization and exposure,

• Potty training,

• Biting and chewing,

• Basic commands (Sit, Down, Stay, Recall, Heel),

• Bite prevention and resource guarding,

• And more!

The next puppy kinder classes begin June 7th , 2023 at Ranch Équestre Karina Carola & Ass. in Mascouche. The puppy kinder course is given for four weeks in a row, for one hour per week on Wednesdays. The next course dates are June 14, 21, 28 & July 5th 2023 at 7:00 p.m. 

Vaccines must be up-to-date, proof will be required.
